Who am I?

I'm Jose, a software engineer, and one thing matters to me above the rest: that whatever I build ends up serving someone. It is not enough for the code to compile; I want the person on the other side to understand the interface without effort, the system to hold up, and the solution to hit a real problem. The rest is secondary.

That idea is not just theory. I built Knowty, an educational platform now used by 100+ high school students, and led the five-person team behind it as its sole developer; there I learned that holding the code and the people together at once demands as much as programming. When a tool reaches real hands, you find out fast what actually mattered.

I move comfortably across the stack, from React and Next.js on the frontend to Node.js and databases on the back; but the tool is never the point. I keep learning every day, convinced that good software is simple by design. It is reliable, it explains itself, and it never forgets who it is for.

I'm currently studying Ingeniería de Sistemas y Computación at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellín, Colombia, on the Ver+ Tech scholarship.
